June is a newspaper boy featured in Wish ko Lang, a reality show in GMA 7. I have to blog about this because his story is so inspiring.
He is a newspaper boy and he is juggling this as he also attend middle school during the day. His little earnings are deposited in a bank (yes, he has a bank account) and the rest goes to his mom to buy food for the family.
But eventually he has to close his bank account because he needs to enroll himself in a public middle school. He cried because he thought he would never have that ‘savings’ again.
Then blessings started to pour in as he was given a college scholarship, a bike for his newspaper deliveries, a 50k amount of savings (courtesy of a local bank) and some supplies for his family to start a small business.
I would do the same thing for him given the chance. Instead of losing hope and giving up, he was resilient and did something to improve himself and earn money in a decent way. He also saved money, no matter how small the amount is. I hope a lot watched that part of the show and was inspired to do the same thing, especially that we are all experiencing financial crisis.
