Two blogging friends of mine just told me that their blogs are currently down… since last night.
Scary, isn’t it? Especially since they are earning from those blogs that even a few hours of downtime is a big no-no for them. They wouldn’t tell me which hosting company they are with, so I just told them to consider transferring to a new one if this situation becomes a regular occurrence.
I have experienced that problem (not with this blog) and my problem is that I endured it for a couple of months. But when there was one week when my site was down for like 3 days, I decided it was the last straw. With the help of a dear friend, I transferred my blog to my current hosting firm. And so far everything’s been good.
I may not be a full-time, professional blogger but I understand the importance of a site being up all the time. Blog visitors, especially the new ones are naturally impatient people. They will not tolerate a site that loads too long or a site that’s having down times. They will gladly and instantly turn to other blogs, or just hit the back button of their browsers.
