Hayley Jones Murder: Facebook to Blame?

by admin on September 5, 2009

I am reading some of the news in Yahoo today when a particular news made me stuck on it for minutes.

It was all about the murder of Hayley Jones and the misunderstanding was noted out of the victim announcing that she was ‘single’ in Facebook. This was part of the first few lines I got from Yahoo:

On March 2, 26-year-old Hayley Jones changed her Facebook status from “married” to “single.” Ten days later, the mother of four and longtime girlfriend of 31-year-old Brian Lewis, was dead.

I know that this is not the first case wherein there is a connection established from the online life to the conflict that these victims encountered with their suspects. I am starting to be bothered by these things.

This also reminds me to always be on guard, be vigilant and be responsible of our online and offline life. I am expressing my sincere condolences to her immediate family.
