My boyfriend and I went home to my father’s province of Pangasinan, specifically in Lingayen. We stayed there over the weekend. We had two main purposes for that trip. One is that so my dad can reconnect with our relatives there specially with his siblings. Another reason is to hand out our wedding invitations. We will be having a pair of godparents from there so that trip was really very important.
We did a lot of things within two days, mostly eat, eat and eat! 
Every relation’s house that we went to, they insisted that we eat something. Sometimes a full meal, sometimes just a snack which consisted mostly of yummy rice cakes like putong Calasiao and bibingka. And of course, bottles of Coke! People there seem to prefer Coke over the other colas.
On our last day we had a really long walk to the beach. We didn’t swim there, we just walked along the shore together with my cousins. My dad seemed to rekindle his childhood when he ran along the shoreline followed by two of my youngest cousins.
It was really a sight to behold. And it was one of the best trips I’ve had in such a long time.
