Driving Without An Aircon

by admin on April 3, 2010

Our car’s aircon broke down yesterday and I believe it was the first time since we bought it that we drove around with opened windows. You see, with all the pollution in the metropolis, it is really not advisable to drive with opened windows. One, you would inhale all the air pollution emitted by smoke belchers and second, dust would easily dirty your car’s interiors. For me, especially the last one is a big no-no.

We had to finish a couple of errands late afternoon of yesterday and morning today, so it was only during noon that we were able to finally bring the car to an auto aircon specialist. And boy, did it cost us much! They replaced the expansion valve (whatever that is) and it wasn’t cheap. Still, we had to have the car fixed today because in a few days my parents would be using it when they go to the province.

There’s really no lesson here because it was nobody’s fault that the aircon broke down. It was just a natural occurrence. Perhaps we should have our car checked all over to see of any potential breakdowns.
